Upcoming 2024 Social Events in June and July

Book your calendar to join us at these upcoming social events:

Court Booking Rule Reminders

Some friendly reminders about court bookings. Full rules are available online.

Members can have only two advance court bookings over a rolling 6-day period (excluding house league, lessons (private or clinic), drop-in programs and team play).

The names of the players in the court booking must match the players on court. If there are changes to one or more players in your court booking, please update the booking prior to arriving on court. If your group changes within the hour before your court start time, please notify Clubhouse staff of the players on court when you arrive.

All guests must sign a Guest Waiver (once for the season). The guest fee is $10 plus HST ($11.30) and it will be charged to your CourtReserve account. Please note that guest fees are waived for juniors (under 18) and students (appropriate student ID must be presented). Contact the clubhouse to have them waive any guest fees for juniors and students.

Ongoing Programs & Activities

We are wrapping up June after a busy spring season with after-school programming and rain dates!

Adult Instruction

Adult instruction evening programming will resume the week of July 8 (Tuesdays & Thursdays 6-8 PM). Example of evening programs which will be offered include:

Daytime programming will be off due to the summer camps running. All programming with new times and dates will resume in the fall for 6-week sessions.

Junior Summer Camps

We still have morning/afternoon/full day options available in our Summer Camps. This is a great way to keep your children who are home from school active! Our camps start June 17 (1-4 PM). Additional sessions begin June 24 (9 AM-12 PM and 1-4 PM). Camps include red, orange and green dot ball programming.

All levels welcome – your child will enjoy drills, games and fun! And don’t forget freezies on hot days and fun prizes at the end of each week!

New this year, attendees must be at least 5 years old at the time of the Camp. If your child is 4, special permission may be granted if they turn 5 in 2024.

Juniors have received details about our camps - click to see the Junior newsletter.

Ladder Format Changes – Please read the rules

Our Mens and Ladies singles ladders have started up with great participation. Please note that the format, website and scoring have changed from last year. Head to our website to familiarize yourself with the rules - the key being that the match is a single set to 6, with a tie-break being played at 6-6. Good luck. Players can join anytime so don’t hesitate to join in.

Wanless Teams

Our Toronto Ladies Tennis League (TLTL) Division 1 evening team is about one third of the way through the season and continues to lead the pack! At least one half of the team is undefeated in their matches so far.

The TLTL daytime team has 2 games left. They are in a tight race for first place as well. They play their closest competition over the next two weeks so the championship might be decided by the last match.

The TLTL Division 5 evening team and the NYTA women’s daytime team are struggling for wins in tough leagues, but they have been practising hard in the hope of a stronger finish to the season.

The two Toronto Men’s Tennis League teams are about half-way through their seasons – however, they have no idea where they stand in their divisions because there is new scoring software that is not yet on-line! The results of the matches so far have been at both ends of the spectrum so we will just have to wait and see.

CourtReserve Tips

Check out all our CourtReserve FAQs online.

Use CourtReserve to Edit/Cancelling Bookings - If your plans change, please do not reply to your booking confirmation email to edit or cancel your booking. If it is a regular court booking, log into your Wanless CourtReserve account to make the necessary changes. If it is a lesson, contact the pro you have the lesson booked with to make any changes. If it’s a house league booking that you need to adjust, please email the clubhouse.

Remember to pay your bills - Guest and ball machine rental fees accumulate in your CourtReserve account; they are not automatically charged to your credit card. You don't have to pay right away (and it's best to wait until after your reservation), but remember to login to your CourtReserve account monthly to pay any outstanding balance. If you forget, no problem! We send you a monthly reminder. Please add “clubmanager@wanlesstennis.com” to your contacts so that emails are not accumulating in your junk mail.

Waitlist feature - if you are looking to play and courts are all booked - you can add yourself to the Waitlist directly in CourtReserve. You will receive an email if a slot opens up and you will then need to make your booking.
