2024 Adult Tournament
Registration is now open for the 2024 Annual Adult Club Tournament!
The 2024 Adult Tournament will commence on August 10 and continue until September 29, weather permitting. The registration deadline is Aug 3 at 11:59 PM.
To participate in the Tournament, players must be members in good standing and available to play their matches according to the pace of play that has been set out; namely within 1½ weeks for each of the first 2 rounds; and within one week for each subsequent round to be played. Excessive delays to scheduled matches will result in a coin toss to determine the winner. No exceptions.
All the finals will be played on September 28 (with September 29 available as a rain date).
- The tournament will consist of 10 divisions in the following categories and formats (at the discretion of the Tournament Director and based on entries received):
- Men's Singles (A and B levels)
- Women's Singles (A and B levels)
- Men's Doubles (A and B levels)
- Women's Doubles (A and B levels)
- Mixed Doubles (A and B levels)
- Draws for each event will be made by the Tournament Director
- All events will follow a single elimination format
- Members 16 years of age and over as of January 1, 2024 may enter.
- Eligible Juniors who choose to enter Adult event(s) (at the discretion of the Tournament Director and Head Pro) cannot also participate in the same category of event(s) at the Junior level.
- No limit on number of events for which members can sign up
- A member cannot play in both the A & B levels of the same event. A member cannot be part of two doubles pairings in the same event – i.e. a person cannot sign up with one member for the A Doubles & sign up with another member for the B Doubles.
- Pros will not be able to participate. (Instructors who are members can participate)
- Matches not completed by round completion date will be decided by a coin toss conducted by the Tournament Director
- Match Format
- Earlier rounds will be 60 minutes long including the 5-minute warm-up and best of 13 games (first to 7). If tied at 6-6, the winner will be determined by the standard 7-point tie break. If a match is incomplete after 60 minutes, the winner is the person with the most games. If tied at 60 minutes, players play a single point served by the server of the first point of the match.)
- Semi-finals and finals will be 120 minutes and the best of three sets with a 3rd set being a super (10-point) tie break.
