2023 Adult Tournament

Registration is now open for the 2023 Annual Adult Club Tournament!

The 2023 Adult Tournament will commence on August 21 and continue until September 30, weather dependent. The registration deadline is Aug 17 11:59 PM.

To participate in the Tournament, players must be members in good standing and available to play their matches according to the pace of play that has been set out; namely within 1½ weeks for each of the first 2 rounds; and within one week for each subsequent round to be played. Egregious delays to schedule matches will result in a coin toss to determine the winner. No exceptions.

All the finals will be played on September 30 (with Oct 1 available for rain delays).

The tournament will consist of 10 divisions in the following categories and formats (at the discretion of the Tournament Director and based on entries received):

All Categories will follow a single elimination format – i.e. if a person loses their match, they are done.

Members 16 years of age and over as of January 1, 2023 may enter. Eligible Juniors who choose to enter Adult event(s) (at the discretion of the Tournament Director and Head Pro) cannot also participate in the same category of event(s) at the Junior level.

Members can sign up for a maximum of 2 events – i.e. a person cannot sign up for Doubles, Singles & Mixed Doubles categories. If two categories are collapsed due to draw size (i.e Women’s A Singles and Women’s B Singles), all entrants will be given the opportunity to move into another draw (no guarantees can be made that you will get into that other draw if you do not have a partner, etc.).

A member cannot play in both the A & B levels of the same event. A member cannot be part of two doubles pairings in the same event – i.e. a person cannot sign up with one member for the A Doubles & sign up with another member for the B Doubles.

Matches — with the exception of semi-finals and finals for each category — will be 60 minutes long including the 5-minute warm-up; best of 14 games.

More details and registration are available on the Wanless Website.

If there are questions, please reach out to the Tournament Director.
