Fall News
Reminders: On-going Programs & Activities
- Friday Live Ball will continue to run Friday evenings through to the end of the season, and starting September 29, will be lead by our Head Pro, Laura Borza. Remember that you need to sign up on the website, or by contacting Laura on a weekly basis as space is limited. Payment is made on court at the time of the session by credit card or tap enabled device.
- Thursday Adult Drop-in is on-going with great participation levels. Drop by 10 AM to 12 PM on courts 3, 4 and 5 weekly. No registration required.
- House leagues are humming on Tuesday afternoons and Wednesday evenings. Please remember to find a spare in the event that you cannot play.
AGM, Lunch & Round Robin - Saturday October 14
Please mark your calendars and join us on Saturday October 14 for our Annual General Meeting, lunch and Adult Social.
- 11 AM - AGM in front of Wanless Clubhouse.
- 12 PM - Lunch. Our Social Director and his team are changing things up this October. Prepare for a lasagna and chili luncheon feast fit for carnivores and vegetarians alike after the AGM.
- 1 PM to 3 PM Adult Tennis Social. All 5 courts are reserved for adult play format, details to be confirmed.
Tournament Finals Day
The Adult tournament is underway with great success in all categories: Men’s & Women’s Singles, Men’s & Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles. Please save the date Saturday September 30 (with Sunday October 1 as a rain date) to come out and watch the finals. Snacks will be provided for fans in the “stands”.
The Junior tournament started last weekend and semi-finals and finals will also be played this weekend (Saturday September 30th and Sunday October 1).

Introducing New Assistant Pro - Thomas Partridge
- Thomas joined Laura’s coaching staff this fall. He has been playing competitive tennis since he was a kid and competed at the college level at DePauw University in Indiana. He played both #1 singles and doubles and achieved a ranking inside the top 25 in the region.
- Since graduating he has continued playing tennis for fun.
- This summer Thomas coached privately all over Muskoka and looks forward to joining the Wanless Tennis community this Fall!
Court Booking Rule Reminders
- We allow 2 hour bookings during the week Monday-Friday from 7 AM to 4 PM for doubles play. The expectation is that four names are used to reserve the courts for doubles play.
- Members playing singles can only book the court for one hour, however if the court is open the hour before or after, they can extend their play.
- Please do not book courts using another member’s name, your kids’ names, or mark a member as a guest to circumvent the booking rules.
Public Hours Reminder
Reminder that Wanless offers public hours (for non-members) at the following times:
- Saturdays & Sundays: 8 PM to 11 PM
- Holiday Mondays: 9 PM to 11 PM
Courts should change on the half hour. Members who have booked a court immediately prior to public hours do not have first right on that court. When public hours begin, they should leave the court if a member of the public is waiting for a court and can get in line for the next half hour changeover.
