August Junior News

Reminders: On-going Programs & Activities

• Junior Match Play has changed to one session (on 3 courts) from 11:30 AM to 1 PM on Saturdays. Remember that you need to sign up on the website on a weekly basis and space is limited. Payment is made on court at the time of the session.
• Summer camps are very popular again this season and many weeks are sold out. However there are a few spots left, see the camp webpage for details.
• Registration is open for Fall Junior Lesson Programs - weekday after-school lessons and Sunday clinics - see the Junior lesson program page for details.

OTA Junior Tournament Aug 11-13 at Wanless

Wanless will be hosting a U12 OTA sanctioned tournament from August 11 - August 13. The format of the tournament will be a 2-star transition tour competition with 16 person draws for both boys and girls.

The transition tournament style is meant to be the ’next stage’ of competition beyond ‘Rookie’ tournaments. Players can now obtain official ranking points in a tournament format. Initial rounds will be held Thursday and Friday night from 5 PM to 9 PM, with the semi-finals and finals held on Saturday morning from 9 AM to 12 PM.

This is an exciting opportunity for juniors to start their OTA career. Feel free to swing by to watch some up and coming junior tennis in the community!
