Junior Match Play & Ladders

Junior Match Play Returns

Junior Match Play will resume this Saturday June 25. The program is offered to all junior levels (age 7-18 years old), from Novice to High Performance for members who are interested in playing more matches and competitive points.

Unlike clinics which focus on technique, coaches will primarily concentrate on the players’ decision-making skills and positioning on the court. Participants will have the opportunity to play different players of similar levels, work on match strategy, and improve their competitive edge.

You will be contacted by end of day Thursday for confirmation and which session you’ll be participating in.

Junior Ladders Starting

The Junior Ladders will give players the opportunity to play matches with a variety of players in a competitive, but friendly environment. The Ladder Season will run from July 1 to September 5. We will have U12 and U16 divisions.

You will be placed in a ladder box with players of similar skills. Identifying your current skill level is important to allow for more competitive matches.

You should play each person in your ladder once. That means you'll be expected to schedule and play 5 or 6 matches over the 2 months of the ladder.

Matches will consist of 14 games total, or however many games can be concluded in the a one hour booking slot. You can view your Ladder on GameTime and you or your parents can arrange matches with your box opponents. All scores are entered by the participants directly on GameTime which will keep track of the standings.

Please sign up for the ladder by June 29. In the comments section, indicate your age and skill level (Intermediate, Advanced of High Performance). Each Ladder entry costs $10 for the season. The club will donate all proceeds towards the Doug Philpott Inner-City Children’s Tennis Fund.
