End of Season

Many members have expressed an interest in extending our tennis playing season beyond our permit expiry date of October 31, 2021.

Unfortunately, we were advised earlier this week that the City is going to shut off the water to the Clubhouse next week. We cannot staff the Club without running water, and therefore cannot continue the COVID-19 protocols that we have successfully had in place throughout this season and last. The Club will therefore close as scheduled at the end of the day on Sunday, October 31, after which no GameTime bookings will be available.

We are making arrangements with the City to leave the nets up and the courts unlocked so the courts can be open to the public — at least until the first snow fall, at which point we will take down the nets and lock the gates.

Note that as “public” courts, Wanless members will have no special privileges or priority on the courts. There will be no booking of courts, and members must follow the rules posted on the City of Toronto sign outside Court 1 for public use of the courts. Thank you everyone for a great 2021 season. Thanks also to Arthur and all the Member Services and Instruction personnel who did such an amazing job throughout the season.
