Phased Resumption of Programs and Activities
In conjunction with the provincial “Roadmap to Reopen” that was announced on May 20, and subject to any COVID-19 protocols issued by the City of Toronto for outdoor amenities and Community Tennis Clubs, we are planning for the gradual resumption of programs and activities at Wanless Tennis as follows:
Effective June 3
- Ball machine bookings will be allowed on Court 1 only on weekdays from 10 AM to 2 PM. Members will need to check-in with the Clubhouse monitor on the Clubhouse porch ten minutes prior to their court booking time in order to pay the Rental Fee of $15 + HST by credit or debit card. Cash will not be accepted. Failure to show up ten minutes in advance of the booking means the Member will need to wait until the Clubhouse monitor has checked in all other players, shortening their playing time.
- Members will be allowed to bring Guests and include them as part of their court booking. Guests will need to check-in with the Clubhouse monitor on the Clubhouse porch ten minutes prior to their court booking time in order to sign the COVID-19 waiver, provide contact tracing information, and pay the Guest Fee of $10 + HST by credit or debit card. Cash will not be accepted. Note the Guest will need a smartphone to scan a QR code to complete the waiver and provide their contact information. Failure to show up ten minutes in advance of the booking means the Guest will need to wait until the Clubhouse monitor has checked in all other players, shortening their playing time.
- Balls, racquet stringing, and overgrips will be for sale by the Clubhouse by credit or debit card. Cash will not be accepted. No snacks (including freezies, sorry!) will be sold by the Clubhouse.
Effective June 7
- Adult Ladders will resume. Watch for an email this week inviting members to register.
Effective June 14
(or thereabouts, contingent on the effective date of the provincial “Roadmap to Reopen” Step 1):
- Instructional programs will resume. Instructional programs include Junior Lessons, Junior Daytime Summer Clinics, Parent and Tyke, Junior Match Play, Adult Lessons, Cardio Tennis, Adult Doubles Clinic, Friday Night Lights, and private lessons. Pro-rata refunds will be provided for partial sessions where some lessons were cancelled during the prohibition of instruction.
- House League will resume. The Spring session will not go forward. Instead, the Summer session will begin three weeks earlier than scheduled and will end according to schedule, making the Summer session ten weeks long instead of seven weeks long. Watch for an email this week inviting members to register.
- Non-members will be allowed to play if there is a court available. Non-members will need to check-in with the Clubhouse monitor on the Clubhouse porch in order to sign the COVID-19 waiver, provide contact tracing information, and pay the Non-member Fee of $20 + HST by credit or debit card. Cash will not be accepted. Note the Non-Member will need a smartphone to scan a QR code to complete the waiver and provide their contact information.
Upcoming
- New programs and activities will begin in the coming weeks.
