Lockdown Lifted

Hi everyone,

We are so excited to hear that the Provincial government has allowed outdoor activities, including tennis, to resume on Saturday May 22!

We are even more pleased to announce that Wanless will be reopening at 7:00 AM on Saturday. GameTime has been opened for bookings starting on Saturday morning.

Given the short notice, the City of Toronto has not yet updated their COVID-19 protocols to reflect the reopening. Until they do, we will be reopening with the same programs, activities, and protocols with which we opened on April 10 as outlined in the broadcast email sent on that date. Only singles and doubles play will be allowed. Other programs and activities, including instruction, guests, and non-members are temporarily suspended.

As soon as the City updates their protocols, we will adjust accordingly. As you are aware, the situation is fluid. Based on the Province’s three-phase plan, we expect instruction and other select programs and activities to resume in Phase 1, slated to begin sometime in June.

Some reminders regarding our COVID-19 protocols:

These are just a few simple rules we all need to follow to limit the spread of COVID-19 and to keep our members, staff, and community safe while still enjoying tennis at Wanless. We appreciate your cooperation in following these protocols.

To help answer any questions you may have, we have updated our COVID-19 FAQ. For more information regarding current City of Toronto and Toronto Public Health guidelines for community tennis clubs and outdoor recreational amenities that we are required to follow, please follow this link.

Not playing tennis for the last five weeks has been painful and frustrating, but the wait is over. We hope all of you are as excited as we are, and enjoy being back on the courts.
