Wanless Park Tennis 2021 Season Update

As the weather warms and snow melts, we are all eagerly awaiting the opening of the 2021 tennis season at Wanless Park.

We have applied to the City of Toronto for our 2021 permit and are awaiting their response. In “normal” years, the City would issue our tennis permit in late March allowing us to open in early April. We are hoping this year will follow that pattern, but we recognize that 2021 is not a “normal” year. The level of the provincial colour-coded COVID-19 response framework the City of Toronto is placed in and the tennis-related COVID-19 protocols mandated by the City and Province will determine when and how we open.

At this point in time, we are cautiously optimistic that we will be able to open in April as soon as the City has both issued our tennis permit and turned on the water in our Clubhouse. We are also hopeful that the COVID-19 protocols mandated by the City and Province will be similar to the protocols in place at the end of last season (e.g., doubles and lessons will be allowed). Rest assured that we will meet or exceed the protocols mandated by the City and Province to keep our members, staff, and the community safe.

We are planning to open our on-line store in mid-March for the sale of lessons, summer daytime clinics, and all other programs. In the meantime, our website has been updated to reflect 2021 program content, timing, and pricing.

Watch your email for updates throughout the month of March regarding club opening, GameTime registration, and all of the new things we have planned for the 2021 season.

Yours truly,

Eric Anderson, President
