As we prepare for the upcoming season, we are very much aware of the current stay-at-home order to prevent the spread of COVID-19. While subject to the guidelines and protocols set out by the City of Toronto and the Province of Ontario, we are planning for the 2021 season assuming that we will open on April 1. In order to keep our members, employees, and the community safe, we anticipate that for the majority of the 2021 season we will have to maintain the same COVID-19 protocols that we successfully implemented throughout the 2020 season. We currently anticipate starting the season in April with the same protocols with which we ended the season in October.
As such, we have updated the Wanless Park Tennis website to reflect:
Membership fees for 2021 have increased to cover additional costs being incurred due to COVID-19 protocols as well as to ensure the future financial health of the Club for required capital projects.
This is the final reminder that the online store will be open for business on Saturday February 6, 2021 at approximately 10:00 AM.
Only membership registration for Returning Families and/or Returning Adults (members in either 2020 or 2019) will be available at this time and will remain open on a first-come, first-served basis. Memberships will be available ONLY until we reach our cap of 600 Adult members. You are strongly urged to register as soon as possible after the online store opens and before Friday February 19 in order to secure your spot for the upcoming season.
Membership registration for Juniors will also be available when the online store opens. Junior memberships do not have a cap and will be available for registration throughout the season.
Note that as part of the registration process this year, each member will be required to complete a COVID-19 Member Waiver. If you are registering for a Family membership, you should ensure that any other Adult members associated with the Family membership are available to sign the Waiver when registering.
Membership registration for New Families and/or New Adults will open on Saturday February 20 ONLY to people who have registered on the Waiting List. Please note the list was purged last year after we filled our cap, so you must have registered since February 22, 2020 to be on the current list. If you do not qualify as a Returning Family and/or Returning Adult and are interested in getting a Family or Adult membership for the 2021 season, be sure to add your name to the Waiting List for 2021 by registering here.
As you consider membership for the upcoming season, please note that we are planning to resurface the courts this season. This will require the closure of all courts for one to two weeks, (depending on weather) in August 2021. For more details please consult our website.
Once again, this year we are raising money for the Philpott Inner City Children's Tennis Fund. Thank you to all who helped us with our efforts last year.
